Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Bill and Account Collector to handle collections of overdue accounts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of debt collection practices, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact clients with delinquent accounts to collect payments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and debt recovery guidelines.
  • Provide accurate information to clients regarding their account statuses and options.
  • Collaborate with team members to share best practices and improve collection strategies.
  • Analyze accounts to determine appropriate collection strategies and escalate when necessary.
  • Work towards reducing the overall number of outstanding accounts.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers while negotiating payment solutions.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss performance and strategies.
  • Assist in training new team members on debt collection protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Collections Manager.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric certificate with a pass in English and Mathematics
  • Diploma in Credit Management or related qualification (advantageous)
Experience
  • 3+ years' experience in debt collection is preferable.
