Legal Advisor

Job Description

As a Legal Advisor at Leading Law Firm, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal advice on various issues including compliance, contracts, and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of South African law. You will collaborate closely with different departments to ensure that company policies and practices are compliant with legal requirements, while also advising on potential legal risks.

Responsibilities

• Advise on employment law matters and employee relations.
• Develop and implement company policies in alignment with legal requirements.
• Support mergers and acquisitions from a legal perspective.
• Collaborate with the finance department on tax-related legal issues.
• Provide legal input on marketing and advertising strategies.
• Document and manage all legal correspondence.
• Act as a legal resource for executive management and board of directors.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent qualification
• Master’s degree in commercial law preferred

Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in corporate and commercial law

Technical Skills

• Litigation
• Corporate Law

• Interpersonal Skills
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb)
• Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
