Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Mining Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing mining projects while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor junior engineering staff on site.
• Continuously evaluate mining operations for optimization opportunities.
• Plan and execute rehabilitation projects for mined areas.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Higher diploma in Mining Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underground mining projects

Technical Skills

• Mining Operations Management

• Negotiation

Certifications

• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Proficient

Advantageous

• Experience with project planning methodologies: Experience in scheduling projects using tools like Microsoft Project.
