Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Legal Advisor to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal counsel, adept at providing legal guidance on a range of issues including contracts, compliance, and corporate governance. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with various departments to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks associated with business operations.

Responsibilities

• Review and advise on the legal implications of new business initiatives.
• Negotiate terms of agreements with stakeholders and third parties.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication.
• Advise on data protection regulations and ensure compliance with privacy laws.
• Participate in due diligence for business mergers and acquisitions.
• Assist in internal audits to assess compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports on compliance and litigation matters for the management team.

Requirements

Education

• Postgraduate qualification in Law will be advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a corporate environment, preferably in a legal role.
