Job Description

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Underwriter to take charge of risk assessment and management in our Durban office. You will be responsible for reviewing applications, implementing underwriting guidelines, and contributing to our overall strategy in risk management.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and analyze the risks involved.
• Determine coverage amounts and premiums based on risk assessment.
• Collaborate with agents and clients to gather necessary information.
• Review policies and endorsements to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Utilize underwriting guidelines to assess risk and establish pricing.
• Respond to queries regarding policy limits and loan eligibility.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the insurance industry trends and legislation.
• Prepare reports on underwriting decisions and contribute to strategy discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry
