Job Description

We are seeking skilled Woodworking Machine Setters and Operators to join our dedicated team in Cape Town. As an integral part of our manufacturing process, you will operate stroke belt sanders and other woodworking machinery, ensuring that finished products meet our high standards for quality and precision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate woodworking machinery effectively.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during operations.
• Perform quality checks on products to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and report any malfunctions.
• Work collaboratively within the sanding division.
• Maintain documentation of machine performance and maintenance tasks.
• Train new employees on equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals and challenges.
• Help identify areas for process improvement.
• Engage in continuous learning regarding new woodworking techniques.

Requirements

Education

• No formal educational qualifications required.
• Diploma in woodworking or a related field is an advantage.

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in woodworking or manufacturing.

Technical Skills

• Ability to operate woodworking machinery
• Knowledge of different wood types

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking

Certifications

• Machine Operation Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with woodworking software: Experience with software for design and machinery control.
• Ability to read technical drawings: Important for machine setup and production planning.
