Reaming Press Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Reaming Press Operator to join our machining department in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of reaming presses, ensuring precision drilling and reaming operations that meet high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up reaming presses based on detailed technical specifications.
• Perform regular quality checks on products to maintain high standards.
• Monitor and adjust machining feed rates and speeds for optimal performance.
• Communicate with team members about production issues or concerns.
• Maintain a tidy work area and comply with safety regulations.
• Document production run times, defects, and other necessary data.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production updates and challenges.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives in the machining process.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reaming press operation certification or relevant vocational training is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of direct experience in operating reaming presses or similar machinery.

Technical Skills

• Mechanical Aptitude

Advantageous

• Familiarity with CNC machines: Understanding of CNC machining and programming is a plus.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks on reaming press machinery: Experience in basic maintenance of machinery is advantageous.
