Job Description

Public Health Officer needed to drive health initiatives in Durban. You will work to enhance community health outcomes through evidence-based practices, community engagement, and health education. Your role will involve liaising with local organizations and government officials.

Responsibilities

• Lead community health initiatives aimed at improving overall health outcomes.
• Engage with community stakeholders to foster collaboration on health initiatives.
• Analyze health data and provide recommendations based on evidence-based practices.
• Prepare grant applications and seek funding for public health projects.
• Report on the status and progress of health initiatives to management.
• Facilitate focus groups and workshops to gather community feedback on health programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in public health practice

Technical Skills

• Epidemiology
• Health program planning

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified Public Health Administrator (CPHA)

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational
• English: Fluent
