Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Pretoria. In this role, you will evaluate insurance applications, assess risk factors, and determine coverage eligibility to ensure that we provide the best coverage for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze data to evaluate risks associated with applications.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of insurance contracts with agents.
• Recommend coverage adjustments and additional underwriting requirements.
• Monitor and analyze trends in the insurance industry to improve processes.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and provide exceptional service.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Insurance or Finance
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of underwriting experience

Technical Skills

• Claims Management
• Regulatory Compliance

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Problem Solving

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU)
• Insurance Institute Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Strong networking skills: Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with industry stakeholders.
• Experience in commercial underwriting: Prior experience in commercial insurance products is advantageous.
