Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team in Makhanda. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services, manage patient health, and facilitate referrals to specialists when necessary. You will be pivotal in ensuring the well-being of our patients and the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assess health status.
• Manage acute and chronic diseases with evidence-based practices.
• Request necessary laboratory tests and evaluate results.
• Formulate treatment strategies with a focus on preventive health.
• Engage patients in discussions about their health and treatment options.
• Ensure continuity of care through timely follow-ups.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Educate communities on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Document all patient interactions and care plans thoroughly.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff.

Requirements

Education

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in general practice or a related field
