Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst with strong analytical skills to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be involved in data analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment to aid in strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and programming skills, particularly in using actuarial software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex datasets to support actuarial valuations.
• Create and maintain actuarial models for forecasting.
• Assist in performing experience studies to inform pricing and reserves.
• Work with stakeholders to present findings and actionable recommendations.
• Participate in audits and ensure data integrity.
• Train and mentor junior analysts in actuarial methodologies.
• Assist in developing strategic initiatives for risk management.
• Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years in an actuarial or analytical capacity

Technical Skills

• Excel and VBA
• Database Management (SQL)

Certifications

• Registered Actuary

Languages

• English: Fluent
