Transportation Dispatcher

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Dispatcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the shipment and delivery of goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule transportation routes for delivery of goods.
• Dispatch drivers and assign vehicles to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor the movement of goods and update stakeholders accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory and delivery schedules.
• Communicate with clients and resolve any issues that arise during transport.
• Assist in logistics planning to improve overall transport efficiency.
• Provide support to the operations team as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Logistics Management Certification or equivalent experience preferred

Experience

• Experience in dispatching and coordinating shipments preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Transport Regulations
• Logistics Management Systems

• Teamwork
• Attention to Detail

Advantageous

• Experience managing a team of drivers or dispatchers: Prior experience in a supervisory role is advantageous.
