Job Description

We are currently looking for an Insurance Underwriter to evaluate and manage insurance risks in Port Elizabeth. This position demands excellent negotiation skills and the ability to assess complex information to make informed underwriting decisions. Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze risks for all types of insurance applications, including property and casualty.
• Ensure all underwriting processes align with regulatory requirements.
• Work with the claims department to identify trends and mitigate risks.
• Support the development of new insurance products based on market feedback.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on underwriting decisions to management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or similar
• Professional certifications (e.g., CII) preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Policy Review

Certifications

• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
