Job Description

The Port Captain is responsible for overseeing all maritime activities within the port, ensuring that ships and cargo move safely and efficiently in and out of the harbor. This role involves managing operations, compliance with regulations, and coordinating with government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise vessel traffic activities, ensuring compliance with all maritime laws.
• Lead a team of marine professionals, conducting training and performance reviews.
• Prepare reports on port activities and submit to upper management.
• Evaluate weather and sea conditions to maintain safety standards.
• Manage large-scale budgets and ensure financial accountability.
• Continuously seek improvements in port operations through innovation and best practices.
• Ensure the security of the port through collaboration with security personnel.
• Participate in community outreach programs to promote port services.
• Stay updated on maritime regulations and best practices in port management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science or equivalent.

Experience

• Proven track record of managing complex operations and personnel.
