Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Veterinarian to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal healthcare, diagnosing, and treating a variety of medical conditions in both pets and farm animals. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on animal welfare while working in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results accurately.
• Offer guidance on nutrition and welfare of pets and farm animals.
• Supervise junior veterinarians and intern staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the veterinary clinic.
• Assist in managing the veterinary practice’s performance metrics.
• Contribute to the training and development of support staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science
• Postgraduate specialization in Veterinary Surgery is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary practice

• Veterinary Diagnostics

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certification in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (VECCS)
• Completion of Advanced Surgical Techniques course is beneficial

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
