Compliance Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a Compliance Officer based in Johannesburg to oversee and manage compliance with regulations within our organisation. The ideal candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying compliance risks and implementing effective strategies to mitigate them.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations into compliance breaches and recommend remedial actions.
• Ensure effective communication of compliance policies across the organisation.
• Evaluate and improve compliance processes.
• Provide expert advice on complex compliance issues.
• Participate in compliance-related projects and initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field preferred
• Master’s degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in compliance or risk management

Technical Skills

• Compliance Frameworks
• Data Protection Regulations

Certifications

• ISO 37001 Compliance Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with compliance software tools: Hands-on experience with compliance monitoring software solutions.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations: An understanding of cybersecurity compliance requirements is a plus.
