Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to fill a critical role within our Johannesburg office. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead projects from concept through to completion, focusing on design efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test prototypes for mechanical systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and methods for performance enhancement.
• Liaise with clients to clarify design requirements.
• Prepare specifications and test plans.
• Utilize CAD software to create and modify designs.
• Oversee budgetary and scheduling constraints of projects.
• Foster a culture of innovation within the engineering team.
• Train and mentor junior engineers.
• Work closely with manufacturers to ensure efficient production.
• Conduct regular analysis of project progress and quality.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) certification

• Experience with HVAC systems: Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems design.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Experience using FEA for stress and thermal analysis.
