We are seeking a dedicated Actuary to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial risks using mathematical and statistical techniques. You will play a crucial role in advising on business strategies and mitigating potential risks for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Utilize statistical software to perform actuarial calculations efficiently.
• Provide training and guidance to junior actuarial staff.
• Engage in peer reviews of actuarial work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Assist in the development of company-wide pricing strategies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing products and suggest improvements.
• Research industry trends that may affect market behavior.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 2+ years in an actuarial capacity or financial analysis role

• Financial Modelling

Certifications

• Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) membership

Languages

• English: Fluent
