Pet Grooming Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pet Grooming Technician to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate should have a passion for animals and expertise in grooming techniques. You will be responsible for bathing, cutting, and styling various breeds, ensuring each pet looks their best while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Perform shampooing, coat conditioning, and blow drying services.
• Evaluate the condition of pets' coats and recommend appropriate grooming products.
• Educate pet owners on proper home grooming tips and care.
• Help train junior staff in grooming procedures and techniques.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss improvements and share insights.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Animal Care or Grooming preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in the pet grooming industry

• Grooming Tools
• Animal Care Knowledge

• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Professional Groomer (CPG)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with pet behaviour: Understanding animal behaviour for better handling during grooming.
