Job Description

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various structural systems built to last. You will work alongside architects and contractors to ensure the structural integrity of our projects. Your role is to bring innovative engineering solutions that meet both client expectations and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs for structural components and systems.
• Conduct field reviews and inspections throughout project timelines.
• Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with structural designs and site conditions.
• Liaise with clients to communicate project progress and updates.
• Implement innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and team meetings to finalize project approaches.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Revit
• Finite Element Analysis

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Leadership

Certifications

• Construction Management Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of building codes and standards: Specific experience in navigating South African building regulations.
• Experience in seismic design: Expertise in designing structures to withstand seismic loads.
