Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Machinist to join our Research and Development team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating and maintaining laboratory machinery while adhering to stringent safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of laboratory machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
• Interpret technical drawings to fabricate equipment parts and assemblies.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues and conduct necessary repairs.
• Adhere to environmental and health regulations in the laboratory.
• Contribute to the development of innovative laboratory solutions.
• Maintain organized workstations and manage laboratory inventories.
• Assist in training new recruits on machinery and equipment usage.
• Provide technical support in project development phases.
• Establish collaborative relationships within the R&D team.

Requirements

Education

• Technical qualification in Machining or Engineering.
• Advanced diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a scientific or laboratory setting.

Languages

• English: Fluent
