Job Description

As a Fabric and Apparel Patternmaker, you will be responsible for creating and preparing patterns for a variety of clothing items. Your role will involve collaborating closely with designers and the production team to ensure patterns meet the required specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and finalise patterns for a range of clothing styles including formal, casual, and active wear.
• Work with production teams to ensure that patterns are ready for manufacturing on time.
• Conduct fittings and modifications for accurate fit and styling.
• Assist with the selection of fabrics and materials suitable for patterns.
• Ensure patterns are graded correctly for different sizes.
• Keep abreast of new pattern-making technology and techniques.
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace for pattern development.
• Collaborate with all relevant departments for seamless production workflow.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Formal qualification in Fashion Design or Textile Technology

Experience

• 3+ years of practical experience in pattern-making.

Technical Skills

• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
• Understanding of clothing construction

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration
• Time management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in grading patterns: Ability to resize patterns accurately for different sizes.
• Familiarity with production processes: Understanding of the entire garment production cycle from design to finished product.
