We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. This role is key to assessing risk and ensuring the financial stability of our operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in risk analysis and a keen understanding of insurance protocols. As an underwriter, you will evaluate applications, determine coverage options, and work closely with brokers and clients to secure the best outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process insurance applications.
• Assess risks associated with applications and calculate underwriting risks.
• Review claims and make recommendations regarding approval or denial.
• Collaborate with agents and brokers to discuss underwriting policies.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations and internal company policies.
• Maintain and update accurate records of underwriting decisions and performance metrics.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and manage inquiries effectively.
• Stay informed of industry trends affecting underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field

Experience

• 4+ years of underwriting experience preferred
