Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lobster Catcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for catching lobsters in the waters off the coast of South Africa while ensuring compliance with local fishing regulations and maintaining safety on board.

Responsibilities

• Utilize fishing techniques to catch lobsters effectively.
• Ensure that all fishing activities comply with local regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety on the vessel.
• Conduct regular maintenance of fishing equipment.
• Monitor and report on lobster populations and health.
• Assist with training new team members on fishing practices.
• Participate in community outreach to promote sustainable practices.
• Adapt to changing weather and sea conditions.
• Help with inventory management for stored lobsters.
• Provide feedback to management on fishing strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Certifications in marine biology or fisheries management preferred

Experience

• Experience with multiple types of fishing is advantageous

Languages

• Afrikaans: Fluent
