Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter in Johannesburg to evaluate and analyze insurance applications. The successful candidate will assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage levels while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments for new and renewal applications.
• Prepare and issue quotes to clients based on underwriting analyses.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with agents and clients to facilitate communication.
• Monitor industry trends and adjust underwriting practices accordingly.
• Utilize underwriting software and tools to enhance decision-making processes.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriting staff as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in underwriting or related field
