Building Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Building Architect to join our expanding team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for design, an understanding of sustainable building practices, and the ability to manage projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the full architectural process, from brief to on-site.
• Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create plans that align with client needs.
• Ensure that all work adheres to quality standards and safety regulations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site analyses.
• Coordinate with other professionals, such as engineers and interior designers.
• Prepare presentations and proposals for clients.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with team members.
• Keep abreast of new materials and technologies.
• Review and critique designs prepared by other architects.
• Assist with obtaining necessary permits and approvals.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Architecture or related field
• Post-graduate qualification is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years in a similar role with a portfolio of completed projects

• SketchUp
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Green Building Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Local Regulations: Familiarity with Cape Town building regulations and codes.
• Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM): Experience in utilizing BIM technologies for project efficiency.
