Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical design principles and be adept at using CAD software. Your role will involve designing, testing, and supervising the manufacturing of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet required standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings and simulations.
• Engage in the selection of materials and components.
• Ensure that all designs meet safety and quality standards.
• Lead engineering teams in project execution and monitoring.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients regarding project updates.
• Foster an environment of innovation and creativity in engineering solutions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Certification in Engineering Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Prototyping and Testing

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Effective Communication

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
