Software QA Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Software QA Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be passionate about enhancing the quality of software products. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying bugs, and ensuring the highest quality of software before it reaches production.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute detailed and methodical test cases.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings for Agile projects.
• Support deployment of applications and monitor performance post-launch.
• Report on testing outcomes and metrics for team review.
• Provide insights on user experience from a QA perspective.
• Stay up to date with new testing tools and strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance roles

Technical Skills

• JIRA
• Cypress

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Collaboration

Certifications

• Certified Agile Tester (CAT)
• CQIA - Certified Quality Improvement Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines: Experience automating testing in CI/CD environments.
• Experience with API testing using Postman: Ability to test web APIs using Postman.
