Job Description

The Sample Shoe Reworker will be responsible for repairing, refurbishing, and enhancing the quality of sample shoes within the shoe manufacturing industry. The role will involve close collaboration with design and production teams and requires a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Assess damaged shoes to determine the extent of repairs needed.
• Carry out refurbishments, including sole replacement and waterproofing.
• Coordinate with other craftsmen to realise complex shoe designs.
• Ensure quality control by inspecting final products.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and improvements.
• Manage and store materials appropriately to prevent waste.
• Monitor industry trends to incorporate new techniques.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in high-end shoe refurbishing.

Technical Skills

• Experience with leather, suede, and canvas
• Knowledge of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration

Advantageous

• Experience using 3D software: Ability to create models for new shoe designs.
• Experience working with luxury shoe brands: Understanding of high-end market expectations.
