Crane and Tower Operators

Job Description

We're seeking skilled Crane and Tower Operators to join our dynamic construction team in Johannesburg. As a Crane Operator, you'll be responsible for lifting and moving heavy materials on-site. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience with tower cranes and a solid understanding of safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage crane operations for lifting and transporting heavy materials.
• Conduct daily checks on crane functions and safety systems.
• Participate in pre-lift planning and safety meetings.
• Work closely with site management to coordinate lift schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of load movements and operator activities.
• Implement safety measures and ensure compliance at all times.
• Train new operators and provide ongoing support.
• Evaluate lifting procedures and suggest improvements.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of crane operation areas.
• Report incidents or near misses immediately to site management.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Crane Operation or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of progressively responsible crane operating experience

Technical Skills

• Tower Crane Operation
• Load Rigging

Certifications

• Advanced Crane Operations Certification
• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in heavy lifting: Prior experience in heavy-item lifting in complex construction environments.
• Leadership skills: Ability to direct teams and manage crane operations effectively.
