The Deputy Jailer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of the correctional facility. This includes overseeing daily operations, managing inmate interactions, and ensuring compliance with correctional standards. Responsibilities

• Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions with staff.
• Monitor inmate classification and adjust statuses as necessary.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Manage conflict resolution among inmates.
• Coordinate with external law enforcement and emergency services.
• Assist with rehabilitation and reintegration programs for inmates.
• Review and update operational policies as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate
• Certification in Law Enforcement or Corrections

Experience

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a correctional setting
