Job Description

We are seeking a Fleet Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and cost-effective operation of our fleet in Durban. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fleet management, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the fleet team to achieve operational targets while maintaining safety standards.
  • Monitor vehicle utilization and optimize routes for efficiency.
  • Engage in cost analysis to help manage the fleet budget effectively.
  • Implement innovative technology solutions to enhance fleet management.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained according to scheduled service intervals.
  • Develop and oversee driver performance metrics, providing coaching where needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align fleet activities with business objectives.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure quality service.
  • Prepare and present fleet reports to senior management.
  • Engage in the enforcement of company policies and ensure compliance with legal regulations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management or related field
Experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in fleet operations management
