Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Legal Advisor to join our team in Johannesburg. This role requires providing expert legal advice and support to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with local and international laws. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of legal principles and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze legal issues and provide comprehensive legal strategies.
  • Negotiate terms with clients and partners in legal documents.
  • Handle disputes and legal claims professionally.
  • Utilize legal software and tools for documentation.
  • Participate in the strategic planning of business initiatives.
  • Facilitate communications between legal departments and other teams.
  • Assess the need for outside counsel and manage those relationships.
  • Create and maintain a database of legal precedents and templates.
  • Offer guidance on intellectual property, data protection, and employment law matters.
  • Contribute to the legal budget and resource allocation.

Requirements

Education
  • LLB or equivalent legal qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in Commercial Law is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a legal advisory role, preferably in a corporate environment
