We are seeking a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of insurance policies and risk assessment. You will evaluate applications and determine coverage amounts, ensuring that all underwriting guidelines are met.

Responsibilities

• Assess various factors to determine risk levels.
• Develop quotes and terms for clients based on risk assessments.
• Provide recommendations to management on policy adjustments.
• Review and analyze underwriting policies for effectiveness.
• Work closely with sales teams to support client relationships.
• Conduct training sessions on underwriting guidelines for new staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field
• Diploma in Insurance or related fields is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in underwriting or related fields

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Underwriter (CIU)
• Associates in Underwriting (AU)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in using underwriting software: Proficient in tools for analyzing risk and processing applications.
