Oil and Gas Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an Oil and Gas Engineer to lead our exploration efforts in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of drilling and production processes, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and on-budget completion of drilling projects.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to oversee drilling activities.
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and field staff.
• Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers.
• Continuously analyze production data to enhance field performance.
• Contribute to the strategic planning of future drilling projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or similar
• Master’s degree in Energy Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in oil and gas operations

• Reservoir Engineering
• HSE Standards

• Team Leadership
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Green Belt in Six Sigma
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of renewable energy integration: Understanding of how to integrate renewable energy solutions into traditional oil and gas operations.
• Experience with offshore drilling operations: Hands-on experience with offshore drilling projects and techniques.
