General Maintainer

Job Description

As a General Maintainer, you'll play a crucial role in our maintenance team by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery. We require someone who can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance team in executing large repair jobs.
• Keep the workshop and maintenance areas clean and organized.
• Follow established protocols for hazardous materials handling.
• Perform emergency repairs as required to minimize downtime.
• Attend workshops and training sessions to enhance skills.

Requirements

Education

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent
• Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing) is preferred

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Hydraulic systems knowledge

Soft Skills

• Flexibility

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS): Experience using CMMS for maintenance tracking and reporting.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety: Knowledge of safety standards and health regulations.
