Barrel Repairer

Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Barrel Repairer to join our team in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining barrels used in the wine and spirits industry. Ideal candidates should have hands-on experience with wooden barrels, be detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and document the condition of all barrels upon receipt.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on barrels using hand and power tools.
• Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure availability of repair materials.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure finished barrels meet acceptable standards.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in woodworking or carpentry is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role preferred

• Coopering Skills
• Machinery Operation

• Adaptability

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Ability to work overtime: Flexibility to work extra hours and weekends when required.
