Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Insurance Underwriter in East London to assess and evaluate insurance applications while making informed underwriting decisions. This role demands a keen analytical mind and a commitment to providing top-notch service to our clients. You’ll be responsible for managing risks, evaluating insurable interests, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk analysis for new and existing clients.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding their policies and claims.
• Monitor policy performance and assess the need for adjustments.
• Attend industry conferences to network and learn about developments in the field.
• Review underwriting files for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting with a focus on commercial lines

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA)
