Canned Food Reconditioning Inspector

Job Description

The Canned Food Reconditioning Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all canned foods meet the required standards and are safe for consumption. This role involves inspecting, testing, and monitoring all canned food products to guarantee compliance with quality protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and tests on canned food products to ensure conformity to company and industry standards.
• Identify issues and non-conformities in canned food products, and recommend solutions to the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Ensure that all canned food products are labelled and packaged correctly.
• Conduct regular checks on product storage conditions.
• Collaborate with other teams to implement corrective actions and prevent future issues.
• Prepare quality reports and document findings.
• Assist in maintaining quality control software systems.
• Provide feedback and suggest improvements for production processes.
• Participate in audits and inspections by regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related discipline
• National Diploma in Quality Control will also be considered

Experience

• Experience with canned food reconditioning is advantageous

• isiXhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning software: Experience in using ERP systems for managing production and quality control.
