Job Description

As a Graves Registration Specialist, you will be tasked with locating, identifying, and marking the graves of soldiers who have fallen in battle or passed away during their service. The role demands a high level of sensitivity, attention to detail, and physical fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procedures for grave identification.
  • Manage documentation and data entry for burial records.
  • Support end-of-year audits and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with local authorities on permissible land usage.
  • Engage with community groups in raising awareness of military heritage.
  • Assist in organizing commemorative events and services.
  • Educate the public on the importance of military memorials.
  • Promote sensitivity towards the families of the deceased.
  • Conduct training sessions for new team members on grave registration protocols.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Anthropology, or related field
  • Advanced degree is preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role or working with military or government agencies.
Technical Skills
  • Mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Google Maps)
  • Database management software (e.g., Microsoft Access)

Languages
