Freight Forwarder

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Forwarder to manage logistics operations in Port Elizabeth. You will coordinate shipments, manage documentation, and liaise with clients to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. The ideal candidate has experience in the freight industry and possesses strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all shipments are tracked and delivered on time.
• Assist clients with import/export compliance and documentation.
• Evaluate and select reliable logistics service providers.
• Train and mentor junior staff in logistics operations.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for freight forwarding.
• Utilize logistics software to manage shipments and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Logistics or Supply Chain certification preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in freight and shipping operations

Technical Skills

• Freight Forwarding Software
• Regulatory Compliance

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Time Management

Certifications

• International Freight Forwarders Association (IFFA) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Multiple Languages: Ability to communicate in additional languages is a plus.
• Experience in Supply Chain Optimization: Knowledge of best practices in supply chain optimization methodologies.
