Job Description

Join our team in Durban as an Insurance Underwriter where you will assess and evaluate risks to determine appropriate coverage. You'll be responsible for analyzing applications, setting premiums, and developing insurance policies that align with our clients' needs.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze risk management strategies of prospective clients.
• Document underwriting processes in accordance with company guidelines.
• Liaise with reinsurance companies for complex risk assessment.
• Provide guidance to junior underwriters and staff on underwriting policy.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers and agents.
• Stay updated on market trends and changes in the insurance industry.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Higher-level certifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or risk assessment

• Statistical Analysis

Certifications

• Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
