Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct variance analysis and assist in financial forecasting.
• Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency.
• Support the finance manager with strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.
• Develop and implement internal controls.
• Assist in financial reporting for management meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
• Postgraduate diploma or master's degree in Finance is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years' experience in accounting roles across different sectors

• Excel and Spreadsheet Analysis
• Financial Forecasting

Certifications

• CIMA/ACCA Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
