Clinical Psychologist

Job Description

As a Clinical Psychologist at Mental Health Network in Johannesburg, you'll be instrumental in facilitating the mental wellness of individuals and communities. Your role will encompass evaluating mental health concerns, developing therapeutic processes, and implementing interventions tailored to each patient’s unique situation.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychological assessments to inform treatment.
• Counsel individuals to explore feelings and behaviors.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
• Support clients by providing coping strategies.
• Educate families about mental health issues.
• Utilize psychometric tools to assist diagnosis.
• Promote mental health awareness and resources in the community.
• Assist in crisis intervention when necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology preferred

Experience

• Experience in a mental health setting is preferred

Technical Skills

• Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
• Trauma-Informed Care

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• CPD Accredited Training Certificates

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Training in Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Candidates with mindfulness training will be preferred.
