IT Support Technician

Job Description

We are on the lookout for an IT Support Technician to join our vibrant team in Port Elizabeth. You will be tasked with diagnosing and resolving technical issues, offering support to end users, and maintaining our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills and a great understanding of IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tickets and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Perform routine maintenance on IT systems and equipment.
• Analyze network performance and suggest improvements.
• Assist with procurement of IT equipment and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Information Technology
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in technical support roles

• Adaptability

Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• ITIL Foundation Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

• Experience with Virtualization Technologies: Familiarity with VMware or Hyper-V for server management.
• Knowledge of Scripting Languages: Basic understanding of scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
