Job Description

We are currently seeking individuals for the role of Railroad Brake, Signal, and Switch Operators and Locomotive Firers. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of locomotives and train services. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of rail operations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Managing train schedules and ensuring timely departures.
• Collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability.
• Training new operators on safety and operational guidelines.
• Utilizing communication systems to relay information to other operators.
• Monitoring train systems for safety and operational efficiency.
• Participating in safety drills and training sessions.
• Ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Evaluating and responding to railway incidents.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Certification in railway operations or related field is an advantage

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in railway operations or transportation

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of railway signaling systems
• Proficiency in operating communication equipment

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Problem-solving skills

Certifications

• Advanced railway operations certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of safety regulations in rail transport: Awareness of compliance requirements for rail operations.
• Experience with emergency response protocols: Training in emergency procedures relevant to rail transport.
