Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Childcare Worker to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. Ideal candidates will have a love for working with kids, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage children in various activities.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children.
• Plan and deliver engaging learning activities tailored to children's age and interests.
• Monitor children's interactions and provide guidance to promote social skills.
• Foster a sense of belonging and community within the daycare.
• Ensure compliance with childcare regulations and standards.
• Prepare meals and snacks following dietary guidelines.
• Engage in regular communication with families regarding their child's experiences.
• Conduct safety checks of indoor and outdoor play areas.
• Encourage children's independence and self-help skills.
• Support special needs children by adapting activities and environments.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Early Childhood Education degree is a plus

Experience

• 2+ years experience in childcare or an educational role

Technical Skills

• Behavior Management

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Advanced Childcare Certificate
• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Bilingual skills: Fluency in English and Afrikaans or another local language.
• Experience organizing children's events: Skills in planning and executing educational and fun activities for children.
