DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and automation tools, ready to play a key role in enhancing our cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage cloud environments on platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Work closely with security teams to enforce compliance standards.
• Integrate logging and monitoring for key applications.
• Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Build and maintain automation for repetitive tasks.
• Conduct regular audits of systems and processes.
• Educate teams on DevOps methodologies and tools.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
• Master’s degree or equivalent is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud and DevOps practices

Technical Skills

• Terraform
• CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)

Soft Skills

• Effective communication
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana): Hands-on experience with tools for monitoring and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments.
