Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team in Pietermaritzburg. In this role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare to various animals, conduct examinations, perform surgeries, and offer preventive care measures. The ideal candidate should possess an excellent bedside manner, strong communication skills, and a passion for animal care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage clinical cases independently.
• Lead and participate in surgery and medical procedures.
• Guide the team on best practices and animal care techniques.
• Oversee the training of veterinary interns and staff.
• Provide compassionate care and emotional support to pet owners.
• Prepare and administer vaccinations and preventative treatments.
• Implement innovative treatments and methods in your practice.
• Engage in active client education about animal health.
• Contribute to the development of clinic policies and procedures.
• Represent the clinic at professional events and community activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Additional certifications in animal surgery is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in veterinary services
