Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Civil Engineer to join our team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be involved in planning, designing, and overseeing construction of various infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and other engineers while ensuring projects adhere to regulatory requirements and are completed on time and within budget. Our ideal candidate has a solid grasp of engineering principles and a passion for making a positive impact through their work.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand project specifications and objectives.
• Design and draft blueprints for road, bridge, and infrastructure projects.
• Calculate loads and stresses to determine viability of engineering designs.
• Collaborate on environmental impact assessments and reviews.
• Oversee construction activities from project inception to completion.
• Ensure that engineering practices remain innovative and efficient.
• Work closely with regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits.
• Review and approve contractors' quality of work.
• Document project progress and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Advise on the selection of materials, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is a preferred asset
• Professional certifications in structural engineering are a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience, especially in roadway and infrastructure projects
